ACM Instructions for Accepted LAK Research Papers (Full and Short Papers, Posters and Workshops)

The LAK’17 proceedings will be published in the ACM International Conference Proceedings Series and will be accessible via the ACM Digital Library. There are many “MUST” words in the instructions; not meeting ACM requirements will result in your paper not appearing in the proceedings. Even if you published in the ACM proceedings before, make sure you go through the checklist below as the requirements keep changing. Please note that some information in the process will be coming directly from the ACM rights management system and you MUST follow instructions within the specified deadline that will be sent to you.

1. Download the latest templates from ACM Proceedings format. If you downloaded the templates for your LAK’17 submission from the conference website, you are good to go, the templates did not change. If you used some older template, you need to switch to the new one as ACM Publishing department uses info from the latest templates to publish your paper.

3. Double check the information for your submission in Easy Chair (DEADLINE: Dec 12, 2016, 23:59 GMT-11). Check the spelling in the title, author names, affiliations, and emails. This information will be extracted and sent to ACM, which in turn will enter it into their ACM rights management system and contact you based on this information. You are fully responsible for your information being correct and matching that in the paper. A mismatch means trouble, and possibly your paper not showing up in the proceedings.

4. You will receive an automated email from the ACM rights management system with a form and accompanying instructions. You MUST follow these to the letter and by the stated deadline. (DEADLINE as per email from ACM). Please make sure that the email from the ACM does not end up in the spam folder; you must allow emails from

5. Only AFTER you complete the form you will be emailed the correct rights management text to add to your paper. This appears in the bottom left corner of your paper and has DOI for your specific paper. You MUST have this information included in your camera ready version of the paper. No rights management text = no proceedings. Please note that our contract with ACM explicitly forbids our proceedings team to add any such text on your behalf.

6. To get correct classification coding for your paper (CCS), which is used by the digital library, you should use the ACM CCS Author Support Tool. You can navigate the classification tree and add classifications. After you selected all the terms for your paper you can generate a snippet of Word text or LaTex code that you will copy and paste into your paper.

7. When you are done editing your paper we need to get both your source files and PDF. There are different ways to generate PDF. ACM asks that you optimize your document for web viewing and you MUST embed all the fonts. For more information how to do this follow the instructions in point 9 on page

8. Bundle your source files  (word or tex document and all image files) and your PDF file into a single ZIP file and submit via EasyChair by the DEADLINE of Jan 9, 2017, 23:59 GMT-11.

9. Register for LAK17: It is mandatory that at least one author of the paper has registered for the conference by the January 31, 2017. Failure to register will result in the paper being removed from the conference proceedings. DEADLINE: Jan 31, 2017, 23:59 GMT-11.

Please pay attention to ALL emails coming from LAK organizers as these will be prompting you into the next steps in the process above.

Please also make sure that your paper meets the length requirements for your submission type. Papers cannot be published if they are over the allotted length.

  • Short papers: 5 pages max
  • Posters & Workshops: 2 pages max
